Game review of Sid Meier’s Civilisation 5 : Gods and Kings
Hey guys! This is AxisStrat again
bringing you yet another RTS game review.
This time I’m going to be talking
about Sid Meier’s Civilisations 5:
Gods and Kings.
I have played many Sid Meier’s
Civilisations games before and I was not disappointed when I got myself a copy
of this game.
This game has many new features including:
New religion and espionage modules
build on the core game in meaningful ways
Plenty of new civilisations to play and
buildings to build
Improved AI
Streamlined rules and removes
exploits.

As its title suggests, the foremost new inclusion in Gods and Kings is
religion as a cultural and political force. A new cumulative resource, faith,
is now part of the game, riding alongside culture, gold, and happiness.
Faith
can be gathered initially by building shrines and temples, or by stumbling
across a random quantity as a prize for searching through ancient ruins.
Players get to create their own pantheon which basically gives players
more ‘control’ over their civilisation. This new concept also gives some truth
to the claim that no two civilisations are ever the same in this game.

Players can even ‘steal’ a religion founded by another player or convert
rivals to their way of thinking. This
provides both the player and the rival with benefits, but the advantage belongs
to the aggressor, since they ultimately control the direction of the religion.
Furthermore, civilizations that follow the same religion tend to be
friendlier and more willing to help one another (although this is far from a
given), and conversely, those that follow different faiths tend to form
coalitions against each other. It's an aspect that greatly enhances Sid Meier’s Civilisations 5: Gods and
Kings Gameplay.
Well, that’s it from me! Until
next time, Cya!
